Shri. Madhav Lal
IAS, Secretary, MSME (Chief Guest)

A pass out of St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University and Master’s from John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University in Public Administration, Mr. Madhav Lal is a career civil servant and joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1977. He was honored in 2012 with the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration and with the Jammu and Kashmir State Award for Meritorious Public Service. In his career spanning over more than three decades he has served Govt. of India and UN.

He was appointed as Secretary to the Government of India in the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in February 2013 after his stint as Additional Secretary & Development Commissioner from 2008 to 2011. Concurrently, he is also a Director, of National Skill Development Corporation.

Mr Lal’s served in the Department of Economic Affairs (Ministry of Finance) as Deputy Secretary from 1984 to 1988, and as Member (Finance and Administration) in the National Highways Authority of India from 1997 to 2000. In his parent cadre of Jammu and Kashmir, he was the Chief Secretary in 2011. He has served as a Director on the Board of several public sector companies connected with industrial development.

With Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking MPs to adopt a village for Swach Bharat in his Independence Day speech, we at Franchise India have taken a cue and have turned it into our CSR initiative. With this, our aim is to draw the attention of franchisors to this noble cause by asking them to adopt the road where they have a shop/store/outlet and keep it clean. With franchisors opening so many stores across India, the day is not far where we will have a clean India.
